Georgian Valleys/Tbilvino
Grape variety:

Varieties: 100% Rkatsiteli.

One of the oldest varieties in the world, and an indigenous grape to Georgia. Rkatsiteli is the most widely planted white grape in Georgia, and during the Soviet Union was one of the most widely planted white grapes in the world.

Place of production: Rkatsiteli grapes are sourced from the microzones of Kardenakhi, Tibaani, Tsinandali, Gurjaani and Napareuli in the Kakheti region of Georgia. Kakheti is Georgia’s major (and best) wine producing region, found in the east of the country.

Fermentation: After settling, the juice is fermented at a controlled temperature of 12/14°C in tanks, to ensure maximum fruit intensity and crispness.

Tasting profile: This wine displays an apple and stewed fruit aroma typical for this variety, with a slightly sour taste combined with apple and honey flavours. Due to its excellent structure Rkatsiteli is often blended with weaker grapes to give more body and length.

Food pairing: Rkatsiteli goes well with steamed trout, chicken, turkey and vegetable salads.
